Make Kanye Great Again?


What is the deal with Kanye West? Well, let me tell you...

Lately the Twitter world has been going crazy because Kanye tweeted a picture of himself wearing the MAGA (Make America Great Again) hat and he tweeted out about his love for Trump. Donald Trump has been one of the most hated U.S. presidents, so for Kanye to talk about having love for him created a lot of controversy.

Other famous rappers and singers have spoken out and tweeted things to either defend or oppose Kanye's tweets. His wife, Kim Kardashian also tweeted. She defended her husband by saying that he has his own opinions and that she will continue to respect and love him.
Chance The Rapper tweeted defending Kanye as well. Chance said that, "Black people do not have to be democrats". But are we really even worried about being a democrat or republican in this situation? I think not. It is about Kanye supporting someone that has so much hate towards minorities, immigrants, and the LGBTQ community.

Many people have also blamed his mental health and say that Kanye has gone crazy, but if you know Ye, then you know he has always been crazy and that is what makes him different. But people cannot just blame his craziness for this. That is why I would like to talk about my personal thoughts/opinion on it.

I have been a Kanye fan since day one and I will always be Team Yeezy. It was hard for me when I heard all of this was happening this week. The same Ye that said George Bush does not care about black people is the same Ye that has so much love for this racist man? It sounds contradicting to me. The same way I am questioning Kanye's opinion on Trump is the same way I question why some people even voted for him. But like Kim K said, that is his opinion.

Now, I am not saying I agree with his decisions. I am anti-Trump and do not agree with his ways of how he is running the country, therefore I believe Kanye is wrong for supporting someone this ignorant. BUT as a long-time Kanye supporter I can say that he will forever be an icon. Kanye has made history with his music, clothing brand, and shoes. He is someone that people have looked up to for a while. He is a genius in his work. He is not someone we could easily forget about. He is a music and fashion icon that has made his mark in society.

Kanye will continue to make music, clothes and shoes, therefore, he will still have fans that will buy his clothing and listen to his music. Either you continue to support him or you don't. That is up to you.

In conclusion, I will always have love for Ye and I will forever dislike Trump. I cannot tell Ye that supporting Trump is a stupid move, because he will have to figure that out for himself. I wish he wouldn't support him and continue to egg him on, but that will not stop me from listening to his music.
